About

Five economies. One account. They keep running while you're gone.

Citruseed is an idle conquest RPG built out of five things you own at once: a party of adventurers, a farm, a mine, a university and a city. Each is a full game in its own right, and each one feeds the others. You set them up, set their priorities, and they work whether you are watching or not, 24/7.

Close Citruseed for an evening or for a year, and it's like you never left — every harvest, every shift underground, every fight your party had while you were away will be presented to you. A year away pays like a year.

The five economies

  • RPG: parties of four adventurers each that explore the world and hunt for spoils.
  • Farm: raise animals and grow crops, then turn them into consumables that make your workers more efficient and your adventurers stronger.
  • Mine: dig out materials and gems for equipment and upgrades, and coal to power structures everywhere else.
  • University: form research teams and perform academic research that permanently raises capacity, power and efficiency across your empire once completed.
  • City: manufacture collected materials into goods, and goods into income from your businesses.

All five are wired together. Academic breakthroughs in your universities improve what your mines and farms yield; your mines upgrade what your adventurer parties equip, and the produce from your farms bolsters them; what your party brings home is what your city businesses sell.

Push outward

Form multiple parties of four adventurers each. Select between four base classes, warrior, mage, archer and thief, 18 subclasses in total with 4 class advancements per path. Explore the world to discover and battle various monster types in your journey towards a level cap of 255 with many adventurer builds and party synergies to try.

Move each party across the world individually to level up and gather materials for equipment and upgrades to customize your parties further. Test your strength by traveling to deeper tiles for greater riches. How far can you go?

Control and conquer the world map

The world map is shared by all players and divided into tiles per economy, each with many subtiles. Place your farms, universities, mining plants and businesses on tiles, and place them together to gain additional bonuses. Occupying and working on tiles grants them experience and levels which increases their capacity and their yields for those who reside on it. Most ground costs nothing to stand on and the game world expands with more tiles in real time as occupancy increases, so try to claim as much of it as you can!

Want to claim space on a prized high-leveled tile? Ground changes hands by bidding; outbid whoever holds one, and if the bid stands when the window closes, it's yours; the previous owner gets moved elsewhere and the price ratchets upward for whoever comes next, so fought-over ground only gets dearer. Occupancy is a deposit, not a purchase: move off and you get all of your biddings back. Your guild and family can fund a bid alongside you and will also gain bonuses for occupying connected tiles, so pool your resources for mutual benefit!

Guilds, families and seeds

Guilds hold up to 100 members around a shared treasury that fills from everything its members earn, and the leader spends it on enhancements that all members benefit from.

Families are yours to build. Out on the maps are seeds: autonomous characters, each with a personality of its own; you can claim up to 100 into your family. A seed plays without you: weight its priorities toward the work you want done, then leave it to get on with it. Check in on what it has been up to, or don't.

Guilds and families are separate systems, and you can have both.

Rank in seasons

Seasons run six calendar months. There are leaderboards for each of the five economies and one overall, guild-versus-guild rankings, and a ladder of its own for how much of the map you hold.

A season closes with a reward by standing — Participant, Contender, Competitor, Veteran, Elite, Champion — paid in cosmetics you keep for good. Every season's final standings remain forever immortalized; leave your legacy in the world together with your allies.

Make it yours

Earn cosmetics to customize your profile as you play. Change your title, profile icon, name styling, banner, and border for your account, guild and family into whichever combination you like.

Play anywhere

One account across Steam, Android, iOS and the browser. Start in a browser with no install, carry on from your phone at lunch, come back to the same empire in the desktop client at night.

Free to play

Citruseed is free to play, and every feature is available without paying for anything, ad-free.

Premium credits, which are primarily earned at a steady rate in-game on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and as you progress, can be used to buy cosmetics. Additional structure, unit and worker slots to expand your empire are primarily gained through progressing in each economy and your guild and family. A small share of the available additional entity slots are also obtained from premium credits, which have a uniform maximum purchase limit across all accounts that expands over time.

Each season introduces a new season reward pass for additional prizes; even if you don't complete the pass or started in a later season, all previous season reward passes are available to be completed whenever you like alongside the current season's reward pass.

A monthly subscription is available for more entity slots and additional premium credits as well, and premium credits can be bought directly if you do not wish to wait.

Citruseed has no loot boxes or gacha-type mechanics.
